Why, where, and how Christine trained as a pregnancy yoga teacher, and why you might too.

As a mother of five children, with an interest in yoga, (which I did while pregnant in my last four pregnancies) it was a no brainer for me to become a prenatal yoga teacher.

After my first 200hr yoga teacher training just over ten years ago I wanted to expand my knowledge of all thing's yoga, and signed up to study an eighty hours pregnancy training in London with Yoga Mama in Putney England (at the time there were no eighty plus hour trainings in Ireland that I could find).

I then went on to study with Uma Dinsmore, Melissa Curtis, KG Hypnobirthing and Lou Horgan, amongst others and am currently finishing my case studies as a certified C-IAYT yoga therapist working with clients one to one to enhance their comfort and quality of life.

I have now launched my own Pre-Natal Yoga Training, drawing on all my experiences as a mother and a yoga teacher/trainer which I will run with friends who work in the pregnancy and birth arena. I am delighted to have this training certified by both Yoga Alliance and Yoga Alliance Professionals, no small feat I tell you, they put you through the ringer, which is a good thing.

This training which is part of the Camatkara Yoga School that Christine and Marella Fyffe run will cover all and more of what an 85-hour certified training demands, with the option of continuing to another weekend of postnatal studies.

You will be able to teach prenatal yoga and get the appropriate insurance with this certificate. But please note that only students who already hold a 200-hour training certificate may register as a Pre-Natal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) with Yoga Alliance.

The training will include a comprehensive manual with details of therapeutic alternatives, sequences suitable for all three trimesters, meditations, detailed chapters on the anatomical, subtle body and hormonal changes in pregnancy and how yoga can support them, and when to recommend alternative support. As well as mudra, kriya and yogic philosophy. We will as you can imagine be busy, but there is so much joy in sharing this knowledge.
